The short version. Every tool here runs in your browser. Whatever you paste into one is never uploaded, stored or logged — it does not leave your device. We do collect anonymous usage statistics, so we know which tools people actually need.
What never leaves your browser
The tools are JavaScript running on your own machine. JSON you format, tokens you decode, files you convert — none of it is sent anywhere. There is no account, no upload, no server-side history. Closing the tab is the entire deletion process.
What we do collect
Anonymous usage statistics, used only to decide what to build and fix next:
- — pages visited, the referring site, approximate country, device type and browser
- — how the interface is used: clicks, scrolling and navigation within a session
The panels you paste into, and the ones results appear in, are excluded from that recording at the source: they are not captured, so there is nothing to redact afterwards. Input values and page text are masked on top of that. We never sell this data, and we do not try to identify you from it.
Stored in your browser
- — your light or dark theme choice, so the site does not flip on every visit
- — when you switch between two halves of a tool, such as encode and decode, the current result is carried across. It is discarded as soon as the tab closes
- — cookies set by our analytics and advertising providers
Advertising
The tools are free because the pages carry ads, served by Google AdSense.
- — Google and other third-party vendors use cookies to serve ads based on your earlier visits to this and other websites
- — you can turn personalised advertising off in Google Ads Settings, or opt out of third-party vendor cookies at aboutads.info
- — an ad is never given anything you put into a tool. Nothing is read out of the panels and attached to an ad request; the slots and the tools share a page and nothing else
Who else is involved
Google Analytics, Google AdSense, and a self-hosted analytics service we run ourselves. All of them see the statistics described above and nothing you type into a tool.
Your choices
Block the analytics and the ads with any content blocker — every tool keeps working exactly the same, because none of them needs a network connection to do its job.
